New Moms Inspirations Club (now New Moms Inspirations Club, LLC) was founded in 2007 by Sheila M. Asie. It wasn’t a business in the beginning. It was just a collection of poems she wrote to stay encouraged and motivated due to a lot of personal things she was going through during her pregnancy.

Back Story: Sheila M. Asie was taken away from her biological mom at the age of 4 and was placed in foster care. At the age of 9, she was adopted. She was always a mama's girl even when she was with her biological mom (youngest mom) so she gravitated to her oldest mom (adopted mom) in the same way.

History Continued: In 2006 Sheila became pregnant with her first child. She walked across the stage at her college graduation 3 months pregnant.  When she told her oldest mom that she was expecting, her oldest mom wasn't very happy. She felt like Sheila's life was just beginning and a baby wasn't something she needed at this point in her life. So she didn't talk to her daughter for 2 months. “Sheila was very devastated. In addition to the strife with her mom, she was dealing with her own disappointments. She wanted to be 28 yrs. old with a white house, picket fence, husband and great career with financial stability before having kids. But that’s not what happened.”

All hope wasn't lost though. Even though she didn't have the support of her oldest mom she did have the support of her youngest mom. Their bond at the time couldn't compare to the bond Sheila and her oldest mom had. Sheila was in a space of wanting the acceptance from her oldest mom. However, she quickly realized she needed to shed the daughter skin and embrace the fact that she was going to be someone's mom. This thought put Sheila in a different frame of mind. She embraced her youngest mom due to them having a lot in common. Her mom knew all too well what it was like to be a mom to someone while still needing and wanting the warm embrace of your own mom. This was the beginning of a long lasting mother daughter relationship.

“Poems in hand, Sheila began embracing her new life. In 2007 she welcomed a baby girl into the world and enrolled in a Masters Degree Program. As a full-time student, mom and with a full- time job. Sheila was disciplined, determined and dedicated to creating a life for her child that wouldn't resemble the beginning of her own. This was her motivation to turn her poems into a "movement" not just a business. Sheila's goal is to encourage, enrich and empower the lives of other moms who may be in need of encouragement and motivation just like she was. She wants to inspire them to keep pursuing their dreams, goals and aspirations "with and for" their babies not through their babies.”

Although Sheila had her poems, she still needed to find her niche that would captivate the audience she was seeking to appeal to. With a little time and planning she came up with the idea to put the poems on baby paraphernalia. This way the baby would always be the spokesperson for the mom without ever speaking a word.

In 2018 She was so admit to promoting her brand that she wanted to get it in front of potential customers. So she decided to begin that process with hospital gift shops. She called several hospitals marketing her brand and products. She was successful with one. Now Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, SC carries New Moms Designs clothing. This is just the beginning for New Moms Designs.
